HISTORY

In 2001, the Ampongan Taekwondo Academy was established by John Paul Ampongan, a member of the Taekwondo Blackbelt Brotherhood, an elite core group of the Philippine Taekwondo Association which was responsible for the propagation and development of Taekwondo in the country. Since establishing A.T.A., our team has participated in numerous local and international tournaments winning various medals and awards. The Academy also organizes outreach and relief missions in far flung areas like Sagada, Mt. Pulag, and Mindoro. In essence, we want to create successful individuals that edify what A.T.A. is all about, that is, STRENGTH, HONOR, AND FAITH.

VISION & MISSION

A.T.A. is an exceptional Martial Arts organization committed to providing quality lessons through modern and traditional forms of training, to uplift our students’ self-esteem, improve their health, and face their daily lives with more confidence and vigor.

We commit ourselves to:

  • shape students into well-rounded citizens strengthened and guided by virtues and morals developed in Martial Arts
  • help people reach their fullest potential and apply teachings in their everyday life
  • become the number one competitive team locally and internationally
  • aid communities in need and provide them hope to live a happy and confident life through our program and its endeavors

BENEFITS

A.T.A. is the first in the country to offer age and skill specific classes that are tailored for the student’s needs. There are few, if any, programs available that offer as many benefits as Martial Arts. We have helped many individuals develop their skills and positive traits that can help build a strong foundation and good habits that last a lifetime.
